1  -  Tipology and quantity

En: the 3 basic term lists (authors, journals, keywords) are just a default, they can be deleted, others can be added up to max 31; Tools | Define Term List; and Tools | Link Term List
any list can be linked to 1 or more field terms, but each field can be linked to only one list, so the cluster structure is under the user's control; any Journals list -with up to three abbreviations- can also be used for output purpose; abbreviations can be distinctly used by each citation style;

Any list can import extra data, but then belongs to (actually is physically embedded in) only one specific library;
general journal lists are provided (in the Programs\EndNote folder) and must be imported to be used.

There is no limit to the number of terms in a list and each term can be up 253 chars long

EN: none Term/Entry lists

2  -   Can create extra

En: yes EN: n.a.

3  -   Can modify the structure of the lists or disactivate them

En: yes both.

4  -  Lists entries can be linked by cross-references (see, see also, NT/BT, later/earlier etc.)

En: no EN: n.a.

5  -  Relationship between list's content and field's content:
     a)  each lists reflects only one field's content (1:1)  vs
     b) a list can work as a cluster reflecting more fields' content
     c) a field can be linked to more than one list

En: b) cluster structure available, definitely not bound to 1:1 field basis; see above "1 - Tipology and quantity" EN: n.a.

6  -  Lists can be directly edited or must use global change function

En: yes, they can all be directly edited, but it has no influence on the entries actually contained in the records: must use global change text to modify them within the records EN: n.a. Term/Entry lists

7  -  New entries are validated
     1 - compare matching an existing "go list"
     2 - new/old entries
     3 - probably a duplicate
     4 - autocompletion (i.e.: matching closest entry already in the list)

En: 1; 2; 4;
while inputting without using the list: new entries are displayed in red; close or identical term is suggested as autocompletion (this is an option in "Preferences", along with 2 others: update list while entering or importing data, see Screenshot)
EN: n.a. Term/Entry lists

8  - Lists can be printed/exported

En: yes all (Tools | Define Term List | [select one] |Export as .TXT file and then print it);
lists can be also, partially or completely copied to another list by using the mouse
EN: n.a.

9  -  Import external data into the lists

En: yes, merge not overwrite;
the list to be imported must be: one entry per line with <CR> at the end of each line, the last included;
abbeviations in journals list have to be tab separated;
lists can be also, partially or completely copied to another list by using the mouse

(see Searching)
EN: n.a. Term/Entry lists

12  -  Lists are useful for formatted output

En: journal lists are designed to be used in output, also to optionally replace field content by one out of up to three abbreviations EN: n.a. Term/Entry lists
