  • files can be saved as: txt RTF html xml
  • DTD can be found in ..\EndNote X4\XML Support\EndNote.dtd
  • the sorting of exported records belongs to chosen output style and can be modified
  • since it exports data using Unicode (UTF-8) characters encoding, files can only be read by a program that understands Unicode; otherwise open the file via a Unicode-compliant application and save data as a plain ANSI/ASCII text
